Man arrested following abduction of mother of four in Longford

A man has been arrested after a mother of four was abducted from her home in Co Longford yesterday.

The incident happened shortly after 4pm when the woman in her late 20's was taken from her home in Edgeworthstown.

The woman's four children and three others were present at the time of the abduction - no one was injured during the course of the incident.

A major search operation was launched and the woman was safely located early this morning.

In a follow up operation, a man in his mid-20's was arrested and he is being detained at Granard Garda Station for questioning.
