Irish Life staff hold first of four work stoppages over pay row

The first in a series of four stoppages by Irish Life workers has taken place.

Staff members attached to the Unite union stopped work for two hours at Irish Life offices in Dublin and Dundalk.

Their dispute centres on equal treatment and pay security after the company's Canadian parent company suggested a new pay model.

Unite says it breaks the link between pay and inflation and between pay and company profits.

Unite represents more than 1,100 workers at Irish Life and three further stoppages are scheduled from 12 noon to 2pm on November 12, 19 and 26.
