Online prostitution soaring as sex buyers cross border
It has been claimed that online prostitution is soaring in Ireland as sex buyers from the North cross the border.
The Immigrant Council of Ireland said online prostitution levels are 240% higher in Ireland than those across the border after Stormont introduced tough new laws to combat sex crimes in June.
It says the number of women selling sex in Cork is higher than in all of Northern Ireland.
Denise Charlton from the Immigrant Council said traffickers and pimps were exploiting the different laws in the two jurisdictions.
