The Lough Corrib/Lough Mask Rescue Boat Team were called into action after the Coastguard was alerted at 7.35pm.

Four adults and six children were on the twin-mast sail boat near the village of Cong when the incident occurred.

The boat was also towed to safety and while nobody was injured, all 10 were checked by medics from University College Hospital Galway as a precaution.
