Man due in court in connection with death of Sligo woman

A man is due in court this morning, charged in relation to the investigation into the murder of a woman in Sligo yesterday.
Natalie McGuinness, 24, died after she was found in a house on the Mailcoach Road yesterday morning.

A man carrying a knife was subdued by gardaí using a taser at the scene and taken to hospital.
Gardaí arrested a 33-year-old man last night and he is due before Sligo District Court this morning.

Independent Councillor for West Sligo, Michael Clarke has said the community is very shaken.
"This is a once-off, it never happened before in this area," he said.
"We're not used to this type of violence, We're shook and saddened by it.
"That's all, I think, that I can say at this time, that we hope that everybody will rally around the family in the coming days to help them through it."
