Woman dead following house fire in Kerry

A woman has died in a house fire in Ballyferriter Co Kerry.

It is understood the fire broke out at 9pm last night.

The woman is believed to have been in her mid-80's and living alone.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Gardaí are investigating an the scene is being preserved for a technical examination.
