HIQA finds isolation of children has doubled at detention centre in seven months

A report into the child detention centre at Oberstown in Dublin has found the number of times single separation was used almost doubled between October 2014 and May 2015.

HIQA says there has been a significant increase in the use of the practice since last year, and it is not always used as a last resort.
