Housing crisis 'single biggest issue' says Alan Kelly
The Environment Minister Alan Kelly has said the housing crisis in Ireland is the single biggest issue facing the country.
This comes as the government announced 500 new modular houses for homeless people in Dublin - with 22 of them being made available by December.
Alan Kelly said that they are doing all they can to ease the housing and homelessness issues.
“We are looking at any other buildings that we can buy even or rent in the coming months, lease long term,” Mr Kelly said.
“And there are a number of proposals in place we are trying to action at the moment.
"We are basically trying to find alternative accommodation and a lot of work has been done on that area and I expect some of it to be very successful.”
