'Very visible' garda cars will act as deterrent, says Minister Howlin

Public Expenditure Minister Brendan Howlin has said that overhauling the Garda fleet will allow the force to both deter and intercept gangs targeting rural areas.

The announcement comes after it was reported that more than 200 high-powered and highly-visible vehicles will be bought to tackle the rural crime wave.
