IO Systems staff to be balloted on proposals to resolve dispute

Staff at IO Systems - a sub contractor of An Post - are to be balloted on new proposals aimed at resolving a dispute that brought the postal system to a halt.

The Communications Workers Union has recommended the 36 employees involved accept the plan in their vote on Saturday.

IO Systems staff are responsible for automated mail-sorting equipment in An Post's mail centres.

The row centred on changes to their shift patterns and roster arrangements.

One outstanding item will be referred to the Labour Court for binding arbitration.
