Man dies in road collision in Westmeath

A man in his 20s has died in a crash in Co Westmeath.

It happened shortly before 5 o'clock on the N52 Tyrellstown to Mullingar Road at Dalystown.

He was alone in a car which collided with a lorry.

The male truck driver was taken to hospital in Tullamore for treatment to minor injuries.

The road is currently closed for an examination.
