There has been a sharp rise in the number of cases of common Sexually Transmitted Infections in Ireland.

Over the past 10 years the cases of gonorrhea here have increased fourfold, while the number of cases of chlamydia and syphillis have doubled, according to the European Centre for Disease Control.
