Four men released without charge following Temple Bar death

Four men arrested after a fatal assault in Dublin city centre have been released without charge.

A 27-year-old man, named locally as Gareth O'Connor, died last night in hospital from serious head injuries sustained on Thursday night on Cow's Lane in Temple Bar.

Gardaí have said the victim was attacked by a group of men and that some witnesses filmed the assault as it unfolded. These people are now being asked to come forward.

A post-mortem on the man's remains will be carried out later by State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
