Dublin hero dies in Spain

An Irish man has died following a car crash in Estepona in Spain.

34 year old Dubliner Sean McShea, who had been living in the Costa del Sol for over eight years, was the driver of a car that crashed at the entrance to Estepona port at 5am this morning.

It is believed nobody else was injured in the collision.

Earlier this year the former boxer was hailed a local hero after he risked his life to save dozens of people who were sleeping inside a burning block of flats in Duquesa Port.

McShea tackled the blaze with an extinguisher he had found after spotting the blaze on his way home.

Tonight the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed that they are providing consular assistance to his family.
