Karen Buckley murderer's sentencing hearing to be broadcast

The sentencing hearing of the man who murdered Karen Buckley in Glasgow is to be televised tomorrow, and will be broadcast after proceedings end.

Last month, 21-year-old Alexander Pacteau pleaded guilty to murdering the nurse from Mourneabbey in Cork.

Karen Buckley's disappearance last April sparked a massive manhunt, which ended when the body of the 24-year-old was found on a remote farm north of Glasgow.

In August, Judge Lady Rae said she would take into account Alexander Pacteau's "callous and calculating" actions when sentencing him.

She has been given three victim impact statements from Karen Buckley's family members and a report on Mr Pacteau.
