Gardaí appeal for information as young man remains in critical condition

A 22 year old man remains in a critical condition following an assault in Galway in the early hours of this morning.

It's understood a row broke out at about 3.30 outside a fast food outlet on Shop St in the city.

The man received a serious head injury and was taken to University Hospital Galway where he remains tonight.

Gardaí have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
