Man dies in Kildare assault; Gardaí make arrest

A 58-year-old man has died following an assault in Naas, Co Kildare.

Gardaí say the attack happened at Sarto Park in the town overnight.

The victim was rushed to Naas General Hospital where he later died.

A 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is now currenly detained at Naas Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The scene has been preserved a technical examination, and the Coroner has been notified.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have information to contact them.
