Coastguard continues search for missing tourist off Kerry coast
Coastguard crews are continuing to search the coastline around Kerry Head for a missing Chinese angler.
Locals are helping search for the man who was swept out to sea on Friday afternoon.
It's prompted an appeal by the Irish Coastguard for all shore-anglers to wear a life-jacket whenever they are fishing.
Spokesperson Fergus Cooney said life-jackets are no longer the cumbersome, expensive objects they once were.
"That was probably, historically, one of the concerns people had - 'I can't get my fishing line out' - that's certainly not an excuse anymore," he said.
He said €60 would purchase a good-quality "horseshoe" type lifejacket which inflates automatically on contact with the water.
He also encouraged thus with lifejackets to have them services regularly.
