Irelands largest two airports had emergency landings today.

In Shannon an Air Canada flight from Heathrow touched down after a female passenger became seriously ill on board.

She was rushed to University Hospital Limerick and the almost 500 people on board continued on their journey to Toronto this evening.

While at Dublin Airport a Ryanair flight had an unscheduled stop over when an elderly woman took ill on board.
