Dublin Chlamydia cases on the rise

Chlamydia cases in Dublin have increased by nearly a third.

The Well Woman Centre's annual report shows there were 253 cases of the infection in 2014 - an increase of 32 percent on the previous year and the second highest figure in 13 years.

A record 5,000 people were tested for Chlamydia across the organisation’s three Dublin clinics last year.

The report has also found fewer women are availing of free cervical screening, with numbers down a quarter in five years.
