Renua announces new public procurement policy

Renua Ireland has announced a new public procurement policy.

The party is promising higher levels of transparency and accountability.

It is also recommending that bonuses be paid where schemes come in under budget.

Renua founder, Deputy Lucinda Creighton said that their proposals are wide-ranging.

"We're promoting mandatory training for Government purchasers, and we're also proposing that rather than one-size-fits-all, big Government contracts being awarded centrally, that they actually be broken up into regions and lots, so that smaller businesses have the opportunity to tender and to compete for those contracts around the country," said Deputy Creighton.
