Trial date to be set for man charged with 50 sex offences against young girls
A trial date is expected to be set today for a man charged with 50 counts of sexual offences against two young girls.
The offences are alleged to have happened between 2007 and 2011 at locations in Dublin and Donegal.
The charges include 40 counts of child exploitation, three relate to alleged sexual assault and a further seven are of alleged defilement of a child under 17.
Last week, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard there were no judges free to take this or a number of other trials listed.
The 51-year-old accused, who can not be named for legal reasons, was remanded on continuing bail and a new date is due to be fixed for his trial today.
