Gardaí investigate after man dies in motorcycle accident on M50

An investigation has been launched into a crash on Dublin's M50 last night in which a motorcyclist was killed.

It happened on the northbound side of the motorway close to the "on" ramp at Junction 6 (Blanchardstown/ Castleknock) at around 9.30pm last night.

A male motorcyclist in his mid 30's was pronounced dead at the scene where his motorcycle collided with a crash barrier.

No other person was involved.

The road was closed overnight for a technical examination, but has now reopened.
