The Coast Guard rescued a woman this afternoon after she fell from the cliffs on Howth Head in Co Dublin.

The Coast Guard rescued a woman this afternoon after she fell from the cliffs on Howth Head in Co Dublin.

Howth Coast Guard responded to an emergency call at around 3pm today that a person had a fallen from a height of 20 feet at the cliffs near the Baily Lighthouse.

A Coast Guard paramedic was lowered and the casualty was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital with a suspected broken arm.

Public relations officer with Howth Coast Guard Fergus Cooney said the crew responded quickly as one of their helicopters was flying nearby at the time.
