A man has been rescued after he was discovered floating in the River Liffey in Dublin's city centre.

A man has been rescued after he was discovered floating in the River Liffey in Dublin's city centre.

The incident happened at around 4pm yesterday afternoon when a member of the public spotted a man in the water just under O'Connell Bridge.

Mater Hospital

The Dublin Fire Brigade were alerted and two water tankers, an ambulance as well as a boat were all used in the rescue operation.

The man was removed to the Mater Hospital, where his condition is still unknown.
