Post code system to launch today; codes to be sent out in next two weeks

The Communications Minister Alex White will launch Ireland's first national postcode service today.

The country's 2.2 million homes and businesses will be assigned individual seven-digit 'Eircodes', which they will receive in the post in the coming weeks.
