Jobless under-26s 'in line for Budget boost'

People who are under 26 and signing on could get a boost in their dole in the upcoming budget.

The idea for an as-yet unspecified increase has been developed by the Department of Social Protection, according to the Irish Independent.

To qualify, people would have to sign up for training or education programmes.

The proposal comes two years after payments for thousands of young people were cut by €44 a week.
