Power happy with decision to leave FF despite poll results
Senator Averil Power has revealed she has been approached by a number of other parties since she left Fianna Fail - but still intends to remain an independent.
Senator Power was heavily critical of Fianna Fáil and its leader Micheál Martin when she controversially quit the party last month.
However, a new Behaviour and Attitudes poll for the Sunday Times has seen Fianna Fáil's ratings jump by 4 points.
The Senator has said she is still happy with her decision.
“People informally have spoken to me from various different groups, but I made it very clear when I left that I wasn’t leaving with a view to joining anybody else,” said Power.
“I was leaving because I had difficulties with Fianna Fáil and I just no longer had faith in that party.”
