Man dies in apparent workplace accident at Mayo quarry

An investigation is underway after a man died in what is believed to be a workplace accident in Co Mayo this morning.

Gardaí confirmed the man aged in his 20s died in the incident at a quarry near Kilkelly shortly before 10am this morning.

The Health & Safety Authority are sending an inspector to the scene, which has been sealed off to allow the inspection to get underway.
