Man dies in road traffic accident today

A man in his 60s has died following a road crash in Co Laois.

It happened when the car he was driving crashed into another vehicle at Clonaghadoo in Mountmellick at around half past 12 this afternoon.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman in her 20s, who was driving the other vehicle, was taken to hospital and her injuries are not reported to be serious.

The road is closed for a forensic examination and Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
