Forensic examination to be carried out after Mayo blaze

A forensic examination will be carried out today at the scene of a serious fire in Mayo.

The blaze at a machinery plant in Ballinrobe raged for over four hours yesterday evening.

It was described by emergency services as serious, although no one was injured.

The blaze took hold at about 5.30pm yesterday and was brought under control just before 10pm.

The clean up operation will begin later, after officers examine the scene in an attempt to find out how it started.
