Teen dies playing soccer today

A teenager has died while playing a game of Soccer in Dublin today.

Belevedere Football Club has said that a member of their under 16's team collapsed during a match this afternoon.

The body has said that the entire organisation is in deep shock at the loss of a very popular team mate.

In a statement the club has asked for privacy for the family and has offered their condolences.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Christy Burke says the community's in shock:

"A dark cloud is over all of his colleagues and family and club tonight," said Mr Burke.

"And it will have a devastating effect. All we can do now is offer support to his family, friends and indeed his colleagues in the Belevedere Club. It's just such a tragic event. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family. "
