Almost fifth of people admit to not locking front door

Up to 17% of people admit they do not lock their front door when they are leaving home.

The survey said that 22% rely on neighbours and family to keep an eye on their home instead of installing an alarm.

Connacht and Ulster have the lowest number of alarms in Ireland at just one in three people, with alarm ownership highest in Dublin (64%) and the rest of Leinster (63%)
