Boiled water notice lifted for Roscommon residents after two years
Irish Water has confirmed that thousands of Roscommon residents will no longer have to boil their drinking water.
Six-thousand customers in the Boyle/Ardcarne had boil notices imposed in 2013.
However, as of this afternoon, the water now meets the standards of the Environment Protection Agency and the Health Services Executive.
400 customers in Hughestown, Co. Roscommon, are also free to drink from the taps where a boil water notice was imposed last month.
Boil water notices in Castlerea and South Roscommon Killeglan areas for another 11,000 customers are expected to be lifted in the coming week.
