President Michael D Higgins has attended an Anzac day ceremony in Turkey to mark 100 years since the start of the Gallipoli campaign of World War One.

Thousands of Irish men died during the Turkish campaign, with the death toll on the Allied and Turkish sides totalling over 100,000.
