Irish canoeist dies in Slovenia

An Irish Canoeist has lost his life in an accident in Slovenia.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is aware of the incident.

A spokesperson says that the body is providing consular assistance to the man's family.

It's understood that the man is a student at a third level institute in Dublin and that the tragedy occurred on Sunday.
