Man dead after Co Louth crash

A truck driver has lost his life in a collision in Louth.
The man, who is believed to be in his 40s, suffered fatal injuries in a crash on the M1 earlier today.
Gardaí were called to the scene of a two vehicle collision at about lunchtime today on the M1 near Monasterboice.
It is understood a lorry collided with a van - which was parked in the hard shoulder - and overturned on the embankment.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene, however no further injuries have been reported.
Emergency services remain at the scene this evening and Gardaí are warning that the M1 southbound at Monasterboice will be closed for a number of hours to allow for a technical examination to be carried out.
However northbound traffic is not affected.
