O'Donnells back in court for Gorse Hill case

Solicitor Brian O'Donnell is back before the Court of Appeal this afternoon, as the legal battle around the Gorse Hill mansion in South Dublin rumbles on.

The row centres around a €70 million debt owed to Bank of Ireland by Mr O'Donnell.

Last week Mr O’Donnell, who is appealing a High Court trespass order, challenged the validity of documents appointing the receiver Tom Kavanagh to the Killiney property.

He claimed the Bank of Ireland employee who signed the papers did not have the authority to do so.

The plaintiffs were given until yesterday to submit the original documents to the court.

Ms Justice Finlay Geoghegan said on Friday that the court is anxious to finalise the matter, and will sit for ten minutes maximum for each side today.

The matter is due before the Court of Appeal at 2pm this afternoon, with a final judgement expected later in the week.
