Further increases in car insurance expected

All motorists are likely to see increased insurance premiums this year.

Figures from the Central Statistics Office show a jump of almost 16% during 2014.

Conor Faughnan, from the AA, said we will see further hikes this year too.

Motor insurance is going up, so every motorist renewing their policy is going to see a pretty chunky increase - probably in the order of 10%, depending on who you are and what your category is."
