Prosecution due to finish calling evidence in Graham Dwyer murder trial

The prosecution is due to finish calling evidence in the Graham Dwyer murder trial today.

The 42-year-old architect of Kerrymount Close, Foxrock denies killing childcare worker Elaine O'Hara at Killakee mountain in Dublin in August 2012.

The court has heard the contents of more than 2,000 text messages allegedly sent between Graham Dwyer and Elaine O'Hara.

In the days before her disappearance the jury heard of a message allegedly sent to her threatening to stab her outdoors in a remote place as punishment. The message tells her to park at Shanganagh cemetery at 5.30pm, near where she was last seen by a jogger.

The prosecution alleges Elaine O'Hara and Graham Dwyer were in a bdsm relationship that involved stabbing.

Today the prosecution is expected to finish calling evidence. The defence will have an opportunity to call evidence next week, followed by closing speeches and final directions from the trial judge Mr Justice Tony Hunt.

The trial is likely to conclude the following week.
