New laws to prevent another Garth Brooks debacle discussed

A first draft of new event licensing laws has been discussed by a review group set up in the wake of the Garth Brooks controversy.

They are due to cover issues like the time allowed before the submission of licence applications and public consultation arrangements.

Allowing for revisions to the proposed legislation, it could be enacted as soon as next month.
