A new bill which aims to regulate clamping on private property is being discussed by TDs and Senators this afternoon,

It proposes fines for operators who charge too high a release fee.

The bill sets a maximum charge of €100 for clamping and €50 euro for vehicle relocation.

Minister Paschal Donohoe will meet the Transport Select sub-committee this afternoon discuss the new bill.
