Public warned of banking email scam

Consumers are being warned against an e-mail scam, asking for Bank of Ireland account details.

Cyber protection firm ESET Ireland said a link, which appears to be a Bank of Ireland one, actually re-directs to a Polish web address.

From there, it displays a forged Bank of Ireland website that asks users to sign in with their bank details.

It is asking people to ignore any such emails, and to ring their bank if they're unsure.
