Body of missing Finglas man Thomas Kennedy found

The body of missing man Thomas Kennedy has been found by gardaí.

81-year-old Kennedy had been missing from Finglas since July 29, 2014. His body was discovered in Blackpool, England.

Posting to Facebook earlier today, members of the campaign to find Mr Kennedy said: "It's with great sadness that we would like to inform you that the body of Thomas Kennedy has been recovered.

"Tommy's family would like to extend their thanks to people from all over the country who have been involved in the effort to bring him home. Our condolences to family and friends of Thomas.

"Please respect the privacy of Thomas family at this sad time. Thanks to everyone for all the help and support."
