A woman has died after her car collided with a truck in County Meath today.

A woman has died after her car collided with a truck in County Meath today.

The collision between the truck and the car occurred at around 4pm on the R147 between Batterstown and the Fairyhouse roundabout.

The female driver of the car, aged in her early 20's, was killed in the collision at Moyleggan, Batterstown, Co. Meath, and pronounced dead at the scene.

There was nobody else in the car and her body has been removed to the morgue at Navan.

The truck driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Navan hospital.

Gardaí in Dunshauglin, County Meath are investigating the accident and the road is currently closed for a forensic examination.
