Suspect device removed from garden of Cork house
A suspected pipe bomb has been made safe in Cork city this morning.
It was discovered shortly before 8am in Killalla Gardens in Knocknaheeney on the northside of the city.
The area was cordoned off and people living nearby had to evacuated.

GardaĂ called in Army bomb disposal experts at Collins Barracks and the device was taken away for further examination.

It is not clear at this stage if the device was viable or not.
