Cannabis plants seized in Co Mayo

Cannabis plants worth an estimated €42,000, pending analysis, have been seized by gardaí in Co Mayo.

The discovery - which is part of an on-going intelligence-led operation - follows the planned search of a house in Ballina yesterday.

A man - aged in his late 40s - was arrested at the scene and taken to Ballina Garda Station.

He was released without charge last night and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
