Controversial Lowry note leaked to press not being investigated - yet

A spokesperson for the Taoiseach has denied that video footage from the Dáil has been examined to find out who found and leaked Micheal Lowry's controversial note to Enda Kenny.

In the letter, leaked to the Sunday Independent, the Tipperary North Deputy asked the Taoiseach to consider re-appointing Valerie O'Reilly to the board of the National Transport Authority - adding that she was "not bad looking either".

The Dáil's Procedures and Privilege Committee will meet this week to discuss whether or not to investigate the leaking of the note to the press.

Deputy Lowry has previously accused the Labour Party of being behind it - claiming they brought politics to a "new low".
