523 people on hospital trollies today

There are 523 people waiting on trolleys or on admission to a ward in hospitals across the country.

That is up from 518 people this time yesterday.

According to figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives' Organisation the hospital with the highest number of patients waiting on trolleys is Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda at 37.

University Hospital Limerick follows closely with 36 people waiting on trolleys.
