Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams has requested a meeting with the Ceann Comhairle.
Deputy Adams is awaiting a response from Sean Barrett's office after extending the invite this morning.
Opposition members continue to weigh up a motion of no confidence in Mr Barrett following the recent controversy around the terms of reference of the Guerin Report.
It comes as the Public Expenditure Minister
Minister Howlin says the controversy over Sean Barrett’s comments last week - in which he said Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil were out to get him - is now moving in a direction and that people should reflect on their position.
